Research

I researched some words into Visual Thesaurus to help me and  give me ideas of what i could call my magazine,  the two that stick out to me are 'Pitch' and 'Melody'

However I didn't think any of these would suit the type of pop / indie genre magazine i am aiming for.

So I came up with the idea to call my magazine 'ARENA'

I thought how i was influenced by Billboard magazine, that because it has all the top artists so I thought if i called it Arena that is where all the top artists and pop stars go so the music then has a theme and would be based on them.

Drafting and planning

This is me drafting out a cover page to a magazine and also a contents page. I have mad the front page really plain with just the 2 colours with the black and white back ground. I picked this colour because it stood out and attracts females which was my target audience as pink is normally associated with women. I made the contents made have the same theme and used the same font and colour(tried) to make the magazine look organised and professional. I want to use the same colour throughout and even on my double page spread. I used two photos in there as people would get bored of just seeing words - making my magazine contents page look exciting. I used the model Barbara Palvin becasue she is who I want my model to be like and have the style.

Drafting and planning

I have drafted some questions for my double page spread in my magazine. I will then need to make the answers for them, the third question is an open question which allows me and the artist speak to each other and have a conversation that will go into the background life.

An open question is where you can carry on the conversation and it is not a yes or no answer, its when you can ask for there opinions about stuff etc.

I think its important to ask good questions as it makes the interview on the double page spread better. You would not want to read a boring interview in a magazine.

Drafting and planning

I made a list of names which I could pick out to use for my artists name. The names that I listed where,

Annabelle
Phoebe
Eliza
Ruby
Lola
Meghan
Poppy
Ebony

Bethany
Shelby

In the end i came up with the name Eliza Hale for my artist, however some of the other names could be used for my supporting acts or other people as i will make up my own artists and not use original ones

Drafting and planning

This is going to be my track list for my CD, I needed to create on of these as in my interview that will be in the magazine I am going to have to speak about some songs and about it as they will obviously be the songs I would be singing on Tour. In the interview they probably would ask what is the title of the CD on the front cover and normally with CD's they use one of the songs on there. So the track that I am going to be using for my title is 'Bittersweet'

Drafting and planning

I have drafted what I want my magazine layout to be like, this shows my front cover and contents page of where I want stuff to be. I am going to try and stick to this layout for my final magazine.

I may change my contents page with how many pages I am doing as I would need more magazine pages to make it look like a realistic magazine as you wouldn't only find 6 pages in a magazine.

I have photos on the contents page because that would be a good way to show of my photography as well with my two supporting acts.
