Final product

I have changed everything I needed to, to make sure that from when i started blogging with all the drafts that I did, I had all the conventions that were needed to make sure that my magazine looked like a proper magazine. With my first draft a lot was different as now I have more contents pages making sure its realistic and not much negative space on my cover page.

I didn't change my double page spread loads from my draft. All i did was make sure that the colour scheme was matching which is why throughout the magazine i made lilac the colour and not light blue as it goes more well with the four effects i did

Drafting and planning

This was going to be my final magazine however I had to make some improvements on it to make it better.
I did things like adding page numbers on and a url on the front page.
I thought that with the master head 'ARENA' you couldnt really see it so I was thinking of changing the colour.

Feedback

From the feedback that i got i now know how to improve my first draft magazine, i need to think about not using so many fonts and keep it simple with just a couple. I also need to add page numbers and change the date so its not an actual date just a monthly issue. I need to think about the colour scheme and make sure that you can see that writing that i am putting by the masthead etc

I got told that i have used Ed Sheeran too much, so i am going to try and use different artists and make my own up

I am not using the picture on the cover and on the contents page i am going to use different ones, so one of my feedback comments was to zoom it out because it was not as effective but i will do that with my final photos.

Drafting and planning

This is a draft of what i wanted the magazine to look like. I did know for sure which person i was using to model for my supporting act or my main star. I  tried to get an idea in my head on what i wanted it to look like like to make sure that my end result would be better. I did many things different in my final one.~

I have a feedback post towards this as i got feedback back which made me know what i needed to improve on and what i didnt.

Feedback

I feel like with the questionnaires that we did about what you would find most likely in a music interview i feel like i have achieved what i needed to do.

I followed this graph making sure that i didn't ask anything that would bore the readers and make them disinterested, so i made sure that the top 5 highest bar graphs are the main questions that got asked.

Organisation

This is my main artist that is going to be the pop star who i have named Eliza Hale on my magazine. These are some photos 3 of the 5 which where took by me. She fits the style i wanted to go for as i have posted on my research with influences like Selena Gomez and Barbara Palvin.

I think using Shannon O'Grady as my model will allow me to reach my target audience of my magazine. She suits the pop / indie look which i am going for.

Supporting act

This is my second supporting act called Lauren Eaborn. I am going to name her in the magazine Bethany Moore as i think it is a good catchy name and with me organizing names earlier on in my Blog i feel i should use one of them so I will.

She fits in with the pop theme. She has the style of some of the girls that i have been posting as influences so this made me think she could be influences to others.

Supporting act

This is one of my supporting artists named Reiss Brayshaw. I have one girl supporting artist and one boy. I thought if i have a mix of genders then it does not only appeal to one gender then. I made sure that he still fits in with the theme of indie / pop. His name in my magazine is going to be Logan Blake as i think its a stylish name. He does not look like a rapper etc. He suits what my magazine needs. I feel with a pop idol like this he could attract both females and males.

Research

I researched some words into Visual Thesaurus to help me and  give me ideas of what i could call my magazine,  the two that stick out to me are 'Pitch' and 'Melody'

However I didn't think any of these would suit the type of pop / indie genre magazine i am aiming for.

So I came up with the idea to call my magazine 'ARENA'

I thought how i was influenced by Billboard magazine, that because it has all the top artists so I thought if i called it Arena that is where all the top artists and pop stars go so the music then has a theme and would be based on them.

Drafting and planning

This is my artists name and i drafted fonts of her name which i could then go ahead and use in my magazine, the fonts important as it gives you an insight to there personality before reading about them.

Drafting and planning

This is me drafting out a cover page to a magazine and also a contents page. I have mad the front page really plain with just the 2 colours with the black and white back ground. I picked this colour because it stood out and attracts females which was my target audience as pink is normally associated with women. I made the contents made have the same theme and used the same font and colour(tried) to make the magazine look organised and professional. I want to use the same colour throughout and even on my double page spread. I used two photos in there as people would get bored of just seeing words - making my magazine contents page look exciting. I used the model Barbara Palvin becasue she is who I want my model to be like and have the style.

Drafting and planning

I have drafted some questions for my double page spread in my magazine. I will then need to make the answers for them, the third question is an open question which allows me and the artist speak to each other and have a conversation that will go into the background life.

An open question is where you can carry on the conversation and it is not a yes or no answer, its when you can ask for there opinions about stuff etc.

I think its important to ask good questions as it makes the interview on the double page spread better. You would not want to read a boring interview in a magazine.

Drafting and planning

I made a list of names which I could pick out to use for my artists name. The names that I listed where,

Annabelle
Phoebe
Eliza
Ruby
Lola
Meghan
Poppy
Ebony

Bethany
Shelby

In the end i came up with the name Eliza Hale for my artist, however some of the other names could be used for my supporting acts or other people as i will make up my own artists and not use original ones

Drafting and planning

This is going to be my track list for my CD, I needed to create on of these as in my interview that will be in the magazine I am going to have to speak about some songs and about it as they will obviously be the songs I would be singing on Tour. In the interview they probably would ask what is the title of the CD on the front cover and normally with CD's they use one of the songs on there. So the track that I am going to be using for my title is 'Bittersweet'

Drafting and planning

I have drafted what I want my magazine layout to be like, this shows my front cover and contents page of where I want stuff to be. I am going to try and stick to this layout for my final magazine.

I may change my contents page with how many pages I am doing as I would need more magazine pages to make it look like a realistic magazine as you wouldn't only find 6 pages in a magazine.

I have photos on the contents page because that would be a good way to show of my photography as well with my two supporting acts.
